Description

Perrin Wharf has been traditionally used by commercial watermen for vessel moorage and seafood offloading. The MP-PAA reorganized the first 100 ft of the pier by installing 15 new slip poles and 3 finger piers to create 9 slips for boat moorage and seafood offloading. Slips may be rented by waterman and the general public.  Commercial watermen are given the first right of refusal. Slips may be leased on a monthly, quarterly, semiannual and yearly at a rate of $100 per month. Any slip not reserved by watermen may be leased on a monthly basis for recreational use at rate of $100 month.

Location

Perrin Wharf provides access to Perrin Creek which is a tributary of York River. The wharf is located at the road ending of Rt. 1101 in Gloucester County, Virginia.

Rules/Policies

1. Follow all state and local laws, including Virginia Department of Health (VDH) requirements:

  • Boats with installed toilets with a discharge overboard or a sewage holding tank are prohibited from mooring at this facility.

2. Payment (credit, cash, or check) to MP-PAA by the first of the month (PO Box 286, Saluda, VA 23149) or week (recreational). Advance payment accepted.

3. Overdue payment (1 month) results in loss of slip or $25 late fee plus slip fee.  Second overdo late fee will be $50 plus slip fee; third overdue $75 plus slip fee; fourth late will result in forfeiture of slip or must pay remainder of the year in full.

4. No overnight occupancy of boats

5. Waste Disposal - Lessees will be responsible for keeping fishing vessels, pier, parking lot, port-a-potti, and all Perrin River Wharf property neat and clean, free of fish waste or other potentially malodorous substances.

  • All waste must be removed from premises
  • No trash or waste dumping
  • Exception: use of porta potti for sewage waste dumping

6. There is no security.  Dock at your own risk.

7. Americans with Disablities Act (ADA) ramp will be kept clear of obstructions

8. Hours of operation – open 24 hours

9. There will be no assigned or permanent car parking spots

10. No live-aboards permitted

11. No storing of gear on property

12.  Emergency Dockage allowed (short term) due to:

  • Storms – harbor of refuge
  • Mechanical breakdown
  • Medical emergency
