Chuck's Haven was aquired in 2019 through a US Fish and Wildlife Foundation Grant.
Belvins Creek Wildlife Recreational Area is 10.25-acres that abuts Belvins Creek. You will find that you are parked at the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) road ending at the end of Belvins Road. To the extent possible, please park on the left side when facing the water. Enter the Middle Peninsula Chesapeake Bay Public Access Authority (MP-PAA) property on foot (behind this sign) and walk away from the VDOT road, carry your car-top craft to the water. At the shore you will be able to launch onto Belvins Creek, a tributary of Browns Bay. Follow the creek to the main stem and paddle north. This will take you to Browns Bay. Once at Browns Bay you can paddle along the marsh, to the right, and meet up with Maundy Creek Water Trail. This water trail is an intermediate level paddle and winds through the back islands and marshy areas of the Guinea Marshes. Visitors can also walk the property to enjoy the views and bird watching.
The MP-PAA acquired this property with North American Wetlands Conservation Act funds pursuant to the Grant Agreement # F17AP01022.
